Legion of Superheroes #1

There’s not much I can say about this that I didn’t already say in my Legion Lost review. Rather than being a reboot like many of the other books in the New 52, this is a direct continuation of the LoS series, with all of its long and convoluted history seemingly intact.

In other words, that’s awesome if you’re a fan, but it makes it much harder to get into if you haven’t been following the series – and LoS is a notoriously difficult series to follow. Fortunately, this is easier to get into than Legion Lost #1, so this is probably the best time to jump on if you’re interested.

There are tons of characters to get familiar with, and many of them are referred to with their superhero names and their “civilian” names. Needless to say, it gets confusing. But the story itself is pretty easy to follow so far, and I may actually be able to get into this.

Verdict: Give it a shot, and try like hell to keep it all straight.
